HELLA Ventures Joins AMP Investment Round Led by 8VC

LOS ANGELES – Apr. 19, 2021 – AMP – a leader in connected battery management and charging technologies that power electric mobility worldwide – today announced that HELLA Ventures has joined the company’s latest investment round led by 8VC, with participation from Ajax Strategies and Fontinalis. With the investment, AMP has secured one of the leading automotive suppliers, with a global manufacturing footprint, as an industrialization partner. In addition, the partnership will enable AMP to leverage HELLA’s strong relationships with traditional automotive OEMs in the US, Europe, and Asia – building on AMP’s existing momentum with some of the largest electric vehicle OEMs in the world.

“We welcome HELLA Ventures to the AMP family as we explore synergies between our battery management, charging, and cloud technology portfolio and HELLA’s established position as a large-scale manufacturer of high-performance power electronics and energy management solutions,” said Anil Paryani, CEO at AMP. “As we continue to aggressively grow our business, collaborating with partners that share our vision is an important part of our expansion strategy. Some of the world’s top EV manufacturers and e-mobility companies are already trusting our products – and the partnership with HELLA will help us get our technology into millions of more vehicles around the world on an accelerated timeline.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to join AMP on its mission to help electrify not just the automotive industry but also other forms of transportation – including e-scooters, drones, and industrial vehicles, to name a few,” said Martin Rudigier, Principal at HELLA Ventures. “Anil and his world-class team of engineers have deep expertise in designing integrated energy management solutions and developing advanced state of charge (SoC) and state of health (SoH) algorithms for the cloud. With our investment, AMP will be able to leverage HELLA’s strength in industrializing and manufacturing automotive-grade products at scale. We look forward to working with Anil and team in pushing the boundaries of e-mobility – today and in the future.”

AMP CEO Anil Paryani holds more than 30 patents in batteries and charging – with the larger leadership team bringing invaluable expertise and intellectual property from past positions at Tesla, General Motors, Rivian, Honda, Toyota, Ricardo, Parker Aerospace, Faraday Future, Johnson Controls, Gulfstream, AeroVironment, and more.
